2. Kek Lok Si Temple, Ayer Hitam 

Amongst the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia, Kek Lok Si Temple stands on top of a hill in the little town of Air Itam. Founded more than a hundred years ago, the complex is filled with beautifully-landscaped gardens and sacred temples. A striking seven-tiered pagoda called The Pagoda of 1000 Buddhas -  which combines Thai, Chinese and Burmese styles in one structure - houses a stunning collection of Buddha statues made from all sorts of precious materials. Also found within the temple complex are the statues of The Four Heavenly Kings, guarding the four points of the compass - North, South, West and East - with the statue of The Laughing Buddha in the middle.

3.Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Leith Street 

The home of an influential Chinese industrialist in the early 1890s, the award-winning Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion represents the best of 18th and 19th-century Chinese architecture. Relying heavily on feng shui design, a team of master craftsmen from China took more than seven years to build the mansion, including its five granite courtyards, 38 rooms, seven staircases and 22 stained glass windows. Locals call it the Blue Mansion and it remains one of only three traditional Chinese mansions outside of China. In 1989, it was restored and converted into a 16-room boutique heritage hotel/museum combo best known for its indigo blue façade. Guided tours take place at 11:00, 13:30 and 15:00, with an entry fee of RM12 per visitor.

4.Escape Adventureland, Teluk Bahang

The few hours spent at Escape Adventureland Penang are likely to rank as some of the most thrilling and emotionally-charged moments of your life. After all, hurtling speedily through the open air, dozens of feet off the ground, is pretty memorable. 5.Adventure Zone Theme Park Batu Ferringhi

2) Desaru Beach

Desaru's beaches are among the best in Johor. Many returning visitors agree that its white sandy beaches are a sight to behold. The beaches are clean, lined with casuarina trees and stretch 25 kilometers long. 3) Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm

The farm has over 1000 crocodiles including newborn hatchlings and a 155-year-old behemoth. Here, visitors can gain an appreciation for these often misunderstood creatures as they learn about their behaviour. Contrary to popular belief, crocodiles aren’t the ferocious monsters they have been made out to be. They spend most of their time basking on the banks of the farm’s lake or cooling off in the water.  Entrance fees to Crocodile World cost RM4 for children and RM8 for adults but further charges are applicable if you want to watch a feeding or take pictures with hatchlings. For RM20, you can feed the crocodiles a few tasty chicken pieces. But, be careful of overciting them which could be dangerous.

4)  Pasar Karat 

The bustling Karat market is a shopping haven for antique lovers laden with antique treasures, vintage clothing, gently-used goods, souvenirs and an assortment of bric-a-brac. This bazaar ups the game on night markets everywhere by including independent clothing brands and live music. It’s more like Camden than Portobello, and a lot like Penang’s Batu Ferringhi walk. 5) Johor art gallery

The Johor Art Gallery building was built in the year 1910 and used to be the official residence of the Chief Minister of Johor, Dato' Abdullah Jaafar. He was the third Chief Minister of Johor then. The government decided that one way of preserving the unique architecture of the building was to turn it into an art gallery. This gallery brings Johor’s colorful history to the fore. This building has been a Japanese military base during World War II, an official residence for a Johorian chief minister, and now a state gallery where visitors can enjoy illustrious paintings and sculptures by local artists.

2: Petronas Tower 

The most popular attractions in Kulala Lumpur, the Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest twin structures in the world. With a whopping 88-storeys, these feature Skybridge- the double-decker connecting structure between the towers along with the headquarters for Petronas Company and other offices.The Petronas Twin Towers retained its world-title claim to fame until 2004 when Taipei's 101 was built, measuring 508 metres tall. Today, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (opened in 2010) retains the spot as the world’s tallest building. Located in the KL city centre, the Petronas Twin Towers’ architecture is Islamic-inspired and the buildings primarily house the corporate headquarters of the Petronas Company and other offices. 3: Pavilion KL

 Pavilion KL is divided into a retail mall, an office complex and two residential areas, all spread wide over 1.37 million sq ft designed in milky white marble. It offers a host of indoor and outdoor shopping options, ranging from cheap to reasonably priced, to luxury brands.

Other than these variety of stores, there are other unique and dining options such as a Crystal Fountain that works as a wishing well, a karaoke bar and the 13-screen Golden Screen Cinemas where you can catch an enjoyable film with your friends and family.

4 : Menara KL Tower

Along with the Petronas Twin Towers, Menara KL Tower is easily Malaysia’s most recognizable and popular landmark. Constructed in 1994, the tower stands at 421 metres and effortlessly trumps the Petronas Twin Towers with the highest and most spectacular view of the city. This gleaming tower’s spindle-like apex is visible from almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur. Menara KL’s viewing deck is, at 276 metres, at least 100 metres higher than the Petronas Twin Towers’ Skybridge; the view is marvellous during the day and even better at night when you can see the entire sparkling city centre.

The tower boasts of the tallest freestanding revolving restaurant, an amphitheatre, cascading pools, fast-food places and gift shops that certainly make it a highlight among the places to visit in KL

5: Sultan Abdul Samad Building

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is among Kuala Lumpur’s earliest Moorish-style buildings. It is set to the east of Merdeka Square (Dataran Merdeka) and the Royal Selangor Club, across from Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. It was built in 1897 and was named after the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time. The distinguished landmark originally served as the secretariat for the colonial British administration. Designed by AC Norman, the architect responsible for Masjid Jamek (Jamek Mosque), the historically-significant building used to house the superior courts of Malaysia: the Federal Court of Malaysia, the Court of Appeals and the High Court of Malaya, before they moved to Putrajaya. 

It continues to remain a major tourist attraction for the gothic and western influences that are visible in the design style. The 41m high clock tower is what people admire the most at this point.
